I have been enjoying my poetry writing lately, Some poems odd, absurd, and a little more intense.
Here are a few favorites of the week~
Here's a Limerick I wrote~
A long time ago in the spring, (8)
Lived a funny and odd little king. (9)
He was stung on the nose (6)
And it ruined his pose, (6)
For the song he was going to sing. (9)

It might be a little silly, but that's what limericks are all about! :-) But it was fun.
Here's a poem I wrote in the wee hours of the morn~
The old farmhouse
Rusted, rotting, cracked and broken,
The farmhouse-where I used to play.
But it held memories of early childhood,
Sweet, and happy tender days.
I gaze upon it, and shed a tear,
Wondering- How soon? How soon?
Will it slip from my mind and disappear?
This sad and sorrowful tune
My mind flashed back to that summer day,
When all was quiet, still, and sad
Because we had to leave our home,
To a home that wasn't to be had.
I remember my mother cried a lot
My dad, so steady, and resolute.
When he said that we must leave,
To find a place of different roots.
This was our home! And nowhere else,
could take the fond place from my heart,
No other place could fill that void,
When we must finally depart.
I close my eyes, and picture the days,
that I spent years of happiness,
The old oak tree, and hollow cave,
I will never forget, or love it less!
But now I awaken, and night has struck,
The moon shining so clear and bright,
As I get back into my truck,
And turn away, to escape the sight.
Will it always stay in disrepair?
Will the sweet memory die with it?
Only time will tell, I am aware
And I must readily submit.
Thank you Lord for that sweet time,
When my family prayed under this roof,
Thank you God, for you gave me days,
Of happy, sweet, and tender youth.

Enjoy, and don't cry, because I almost did! :-)
Christ's Blessings,
Miss Lizzy
