I know not how many of you young ladies have read Stepping Heavenward By Elizabeth Prentiss, but it is well worn and well used on my shelf! I must have snatched that book dozens of times to slip into the sweet society of Katherine Mortimer's life. I see in that book my own struggles, anticipations, dreams, and discoveries that just seem to leap off the page.
Her desire to know God better, trust in Him faithfully, and not to be led by what other's say and believe, is a true and remarkable thing.
I become completely lost inside those pages, caught up in the delightful way the author expresses katy's feelings, passions, thoughts and hopes...all written in such a truthful and straightforward way that you can believe. The book might be fictitious, but what the foundation is, the depth between the lines, is not. Every girl, and woman alike desires exactly what Katy does-a perfect home, a wonderful family, and most important-- a true and lovely fellowship with God. She takes us through her struggles for each, and you can relate easily to her life.
If you have not read this book, then you are indeed missing out on some special literature! So.....Buy it or read it, and do enjoy!
